Multifamily Petromat Overlay Project
DESCRIPTION
As part of the repair and maintenance routine of this multifamily community, we installed a Petromat Overlay. Rather than overlaying the existing failing pavement with asphalt alone, we installed a Petromat fabric underneath the new overlay, set with hot oil to create a waterproofing effect and added tensile strength. Paving fabric/interlayers reduce reflective cracking from the old asphalt through the new asphalt as it reduces water penetration into the subgrade and acts as a weight distributor to enhance the new pavement's strength.
